Toronto Fashion Week: The Beginning

Toronto Fashion Week: the atmosphere, the models, the glitz, glam, streetstyle and resulting exhaustion. Ha!

It took a week, but I have finally recovered and sorted through the hundreds (yes, that many) of photos I took during the week, just to capture every last drop of it all. Attending Toronto Fashion Week is such a fun experience, and it’s even more fun when you get to attend with your dear old friend and fellow blogging gal, Kimberley of The Chic Confidential. Check her out, she’s pretty fabulous.

I’m breaking down the looks that caught my eye from my favourite shows, the upcoming trends for Spring/Summer 2016 and what I myself wore during the week while I perused some incredible Canadian fashion (look links at the end of this post).

Lively colours for spring, fun and flirty details. I swear for a moment I forgot it’s actually cold outside right now. Fringe and florals aren’t going anywhere for spring 2016, especially on accessories. I mean, do you see the fringe on those heels!? And a mini-skirt never goes out of style, loved the asymmetrical modern twist. Canadian made and amazing of course!

Bustle was all about the boys for me. I love the way they effortlessly blend fashion and athletic wear to come up with something a dude may actually wear! For spring, I saw a continuing trend in light-coloured suits for men, many in a blue-hue. Loved the pop of bling with a metallic sneaker, the ladies may need to steal that idea, myself included. Personalized tennis racket as the perfect accessory for spring!? Maybe not, but what a creative idea for the finale!
