Newborn to Infant Baby Essentials

Take it from someone who went baby crazy and bought things she didn’t need. There’s a lot of stuff out there and it’s easy to get overwhelmed and think you need it all. The baby industry has a product for everything. Got a baby problem? There’s a product out there that will claim to solve it.

But what do you actually need for baby to make their arrival a smooth transition for everyone and not spend all of your hard-earned money? I’ve narrowed down a list of my baby essentials as a new mom to a 5-month-old boy.

What to Wear from Pregnancy to Postpartum

It doesn’t need to be complicated, you just need to be somewhat strategic about the pieces you purchase for your new mom bod. That means stretching your wardrobe to cover maternity, post-baby, and breastfeeding (should you choose to do it).

Your life will be that much simpler if you start thinking about this while you’re still pregnant, at least that was the case for me. Whether they be maternity, postnatal, or nursing attire, purchase pieces that are practical while thinking economically. Most importantly, be prepared to wear them longer than anticipated.

What is a Babymoon & Why You Should Take One

When my husband and I found out that a babymoon entails taking a trip, just the two of us before we become the three of us, we were all over it. It makes perfect sense for us since we value travel and love to get away. This time we just had an official name and a branded excuse for why we obviously needed to escape to Montreal, Quebec, over an extra-long weekend. That’s all there is to it really, squeezing in one last getaway before the baby arrives. Think of it as a pregnancy pause amongst the whirlwind that is preparing for baby’s arrival.

In hindsight, we are very glad that we did it, so I wanted to share some recommendations for taking a babymoon and a few things I learned while we planned and celebrated baby-to-be Quebecois style.
